Music fans rush to join the bandwagon for Christmas charity hit Band-Aid.

The rush to join the Band-Aid bandwagon sees huge queues in the UKÕs music stores.

Famine-hit third world countries should get a big Christmas present this year with the new version of Do They Know It's Christmas a sure bet to be the festive chart-topper.

The charity single is being sold almost 20 years to the day since Band Aid first recorded the song.

Sir Bob Geldof was the original mastermind behind the song, which was sung by Status Quo, Phil Collins, Sting and Boy George, and the subsequent Christmas appeal.

He got his inspiration after watching a BBC report about famine in Ethiopia.

His vision led to millions being raised for charities as the public rushed out to buy an incredible three and a half million copies.

The new performers Jamelia, Dido, Robbie Williams and Will Young will no doubt make sure the hit results in as much festive spirit.
